In February 2020, I conducted a survey on the situation of Japanese-Filipino children in Baguio and Cavite in the northern Philippines. It is an exercise of rights for children to demand recognition and child support from Japanese husbands who abandoned their wives and children. I wonder if this is a good thing.

According to a Filipino immigration activist, after 1980, many Filipino women worked in Japanese Filipino pubs to earn money and became couples with Japanese men, not necessarily based on true love. The victims are children. In the background, there are problems on the part of the sending country that relies on the export of labor, problems on the part of the receiving country that preys on women from developing countries, and structural problems that support these problems. If such problems are not solved, another tragedy may occur.
